SUMMARY
Responsible for evaluation of water based flexographic, gravure, lithographic coatings for graphic arts industry.
Performs laboratory testing to assist in every aspect of coating development including quality control, process control, or product development. Requires a self-starter who can perform experiments, carry out scientific tests, record and evaluate data accurately.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sets up, calibrates, adjusts, and operates laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Runs multiple laboratory experiments simulations with high level of scientific accuracy.
- Test materials used as ingredients in coatings, such as, stability, viscosity, density, gloss, solids, COF, and others.
- Organizes and records all pertinent testing information in the laboratory project files as references for future use, and maintains all documents, prints or items generated from projects daily
- Prepares graphs and charts.
- Good written and verbal skills.
- Support production quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA).
- Provides technical service to accounts, if needed.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and orderly work area and laboratory space assigned
- Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience:
High school graduate or associate degree from two-year college; two years minimum related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
Ability to write reports and procedure. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, and volume.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Computer Skills:
Word processing, Spreadsheet, Manufacturing software
