Position Overview

The Inventory Clerk is responsible for accurately maintaining inventory records, managing material movements, and supporting operational efficiency across the site. This role ensures timely and precise data entry into SAP, assists with cycle counts, and supports warehouse and production teams with inventory-related needs. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and hands-on experience with SAP inventory transactions.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management

  • Perform daily inventory transactions in SAP, including releasing and closing production orders, goods receipts, goods issues, stock transfers, and inventory adjustments.
  • Generate consolidated pick lists for material handlers on a daily basis dependent on production requirements
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure SAP reflects real-time stock levels.
  • Conduct routine cycle counts and participate in annual physical inventory processes.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and collaborate with material handlers, receiving, shipping, production, QC, and vendor schedulers to resolve issues.

SAP Operations

  • Execute SAP transactions related to:
    • MM (Materials Management) module
    • Material master data review (SDMT)
    • Production scheduler – act as a backup. 
  • Generate SAP inventory reports and share updates with operations leadership.
  • Support troubleshooting of SAP inventory-related errors and coordinate with IT or central SAP support if required.

Warehouse & Operations Support

  • Collaborate with material handlers and receiving to ensure accurate labeling, material staging, and FIFO compliance.
  • Assist in monitoring inbound deliveries and confirming receipts in SAP.
  • Help ensure proper storage of materials and adherence to safety and compliance standards.

Data & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate documentation for material movements, adjustments, and cycle counts.
  • Update spreadsheets, logs, and dashboards as needed to support business visibility.
  • Prepare and distribute inventory KPIs (e.g., accuracy, aging, non-moving stock) - SMOG.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of inventory, materials management, or warehouse experience.
  • Hands-on SAP experience is required (MM module preferred).

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of inventory control principles.
  • Proficiency in SAP and MS Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables preferred).
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross functional teams.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout warehouse areas.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs as needed.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in manufacturing or distribution environments.
  • Knowledge of lean principles or continuous improvement practices.
  • Familiarity with shipping/receiving processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish
